Tubes

Yesterday, Brody had an appointment at the ENT. We met the doctor, which we really liked, Brody had a hearing test, and we had to watch a video. While talking to the doctor, he said it..."I would like to do surgery tomorrow". It completely caught me off guard! I said "did you say tomorrow?". Wow, I was thinking I would have at least a week to prepare my nerves, but now, I only had a HOURS!
At first they told us to be at the hospital at 6:00am, but we had to call to verify the time. Since they go by ages, I just knew we would be first. WRONG! We had to be there at 8:30am! That meant, I had to hold Brody off from food or drink for 8 1/2 hours! I "may" have gave him food and drink after that time, but I'm not telling!

When we got to the hospital, of course we had to wait awhile. They brought us back, and we had to put the smallest yellow hospital gown on Brody. He didn't like it very much. He also got a name tag around his ankle, and they checked his temp and blood pressure (with the smallest bp cuff ever).

He was in the best mood considering he was probably hungry, and around all those strangers. He reached out for them to pick him up, and off they went. We waited for his surgery to be over, and it probably took 6 mins. We then had to go to the recovery room, and it wasn't long before we heard him screaming down the hall. The doctor told us that he would probably be crying and irritable after the anesthesia. He was right!

Everything went good, and we are home now. Brody has taken a nap already, and is working on his second one right now. I pray that the tubes work, and gives my baby some relief!

I love that little hospital gown. Tanner never got to wear one when he had his surgery. I hope little Brody is back to his happy self soon! I pray the tubes give him some relief!

So glad everything went well.
I will have to post a picture of Bug's very first BP cuff. It could fit a Barbie... almost. So tiny!

I'm glad to hear he did ok! He is so precious in that gown. I remember when Jackson had to wear it. It almost swallowed him up, since he had his tubes at 6 months. Hope he is feeling back to his old self very soon!

Wow! I can;t believe it all happened so fast. I know that must have been a crazy experience for you, but like you said, at least you didn't have to worry for too long. He looks so tiny in that bed! I hope everything is going good with the tubes and that they do their job!

So glad Brody did fine! That pic of him in the gown will be so fun to look at in the years to come.
