The Difference A Year Can Make

It is amazing how things change in a short amount of time. I was looking through some pictures from last year, and I could not believe how much Brody has changed! Here are a few "then" and "now" pictures...

Brody ONE Year

Brody's birthday was December 19th. We celebrated by having a family and friends get together at my church. We had hot dogs on the grill, and all the fixin's. Brody had a great birthday, and I still can't believe he is ONE! Time flies by so fast!!!

Brody woke up that morning, and I cooked him a pancake for his birthday breakfast. We had all his birthday gifts set up like Christmas in the living room. He had so much fun opening presents and playing with all his new toys.

Instead of party favors that most people just throw away when they get home, I decided to make some "Monkey Munch". It is made of chex cereal, chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar. I think people call it "Puppy Chow", but that day, it was Monkey Much to go along with the monkey theme.

Here's the sweet little birthday boy! He was on the move the whole time. He can't be still these days!

Here is the cupcakes for the guests. They were monkeys and bananas, and SO yummy!

This was Brody's smash cake that never got "Smashed"! My boy is a neat eater I guess, or at least he was that day.

Brody wanted to make sure the wrapping paper tasted ok! He loved the paper and bows the best!
Here's the little birthday boy posing with his hat.........he did not like that thing at ALL!

ONE Year Well Baby Visit:
~Weight 22 lbs. 7 oz (44%)
~Height 31.5 inches (91%)
~Head Circumference 48.5 (94%)

He got 3 shots today. He started screaming from the time I sat him on the table to undress him so he could be weighed, so I spend most of my time trying to calm him down. I had a different doctor today, and I hope I never get her again. I know when I made the appointment, I did not schedule with her, so I am assuming his normal doctor was sick or something.

Our little boy is growing up, and so FAST! Brody is absolutely the joy of our lives, and this past year has been such a blessing! We can't wait to see what the next year brings.

Pediatric Offices

This is going to be a quick post, I just need to vent a little! So Brody starts getting this rash on his arms, one knee, and lower back (hip area), and starts running a little fever, and a cough on Friday. I get my mom to take him to the doctor because I was working. I even got the secretary at the doctor's office to make a list of everything for the doctor to check because I was not going, and I didn't want my mom to have to remember everything. I called my mom to see what she found out at the doctor, and she told me they checked the rash, it was eczema, and prescribed some hydrocortisone for that, and his ears had fluid on both of them, and his throat looked red....oh, and they cleaned his teeth???? Really, is that necessary to clean a sick chid's teeth? He goes in about a week for his 1 year old appointment, and that is when he gets the fluoride on his teeth, but they decided to do it that day. You know, because that is important when a child is sick to make sure they have clean teeth! No prescription for antibiotics, nope! Just for hydrocortisone to put on his eczema. So now, I have a fussy baby that want eat or drink much because his throat hurts, he want sleep because he can't stop coughing, and just doesn't feel good probably because of all of the above and the fluid that remains on his ears for 2+ weeks now!!! But hey, at least we have CLEAN TEETH!
