MoViNg On Up!

Tonight we decided to try out Brody's other bathtub. Brody's Uncle Cliff and Aunt Heather bought it for him for Christmas. He loved it!!! It's like a little chair that sits inside the bathtub, and it even has a little platform that you can leave over. He had so much fun! We gave him some toys to play with, and he had a blast!

We let him play for a little while, and then we had to take him out. He probably thought he was in a warm pool. I think all that playing in the tub wore him out, because as soon as we got him dressed and gave him his last bottle, he was OUT! I think the tub is going to work out nicely!

I just thought this was just the cutest view!!!

Look at that little hiney!!! Hahaha! He is going to get me for this one day!

Here he is all ready for bed...

Goodnight!

7 Months!

Brody is 7 months today, and I can't believe it! Time really flies! Look how much he has grown...

Here is what is going on right now:
  • Sleeping from 9:00/9:30pm to 5:30am
  • Sitting up pretty much by yourself now, but we are always right beside you JUST in case!

  • Attempting to crawl...although you "leaped" forward last night 2 times! Normally, you crawl backwards! You can pick your whole body up like you are doing push-ups, and make a pyramid in the air.You like to roll around. We put you on the blanket on the floor, and you end up under the recliner, or infront of the TV!
  • No teeth yet! You are chewing on everything. You love to rub your gums on anything you can get your hands on. We are just waiting any day now to see them pop through!
  • You are eating meat now! The doctor suggested giving you meat at 7 months, and you liked it pretty well! I gave you Chicken and Apples as your first taste of meat.

  • You are eating cereal mixed with fruit for breakfast, a vegetable for lunch, and 2 jars for supper. Your supper now consists of a meat/vegetable, and a fruit. You love Puffs! We love watching you feed yourself, it is so cute! You get a little frustrated sometimes, but so excited when you finally get it in your mouth. You like Mum-Mum's too! You scare me sometimes when you take these HUGE bites, but they dissolve pretty fast, so we are alright! You also drink white grape juice out of your sippy cup, after your afternoon nap. You are not to fond over cold liquid, but you still drink it.

  • You love, I MEAN YOU LOVEE your Jumperoo! That was the best $90 we have ever spent! You have figured out how to turn around in it, and get so excited when you "find" the hidden toys on the back side of it. You have also moved up to the 2nd level for height.
  • Here are some of your other favorite toys:

  • You love your baths! You have started getting them sitting up, and you splash and splash until you have us soaked, and the rest of the bathroom as well. You think it is SO funny!
  • You love the pool too! You get in your little float, and splash. You can't stand the sun getting in your eyes, so I put your sunglasses on. You haven't figured out how to pull them off yet, so that is good.
  • You don't really care for your paci anymore. You have never really been attached to it, but I think if I never gave it to you again, you wouldn't care. You would rather chew on it more than anything.
  • We have also started putting you in the grocery cart....with the grocery cart cover of course! I think you may be a little to small for this because you kind of lean to the side at times. You really like it because you can see out. You are very curious!
  • You love watching Pierce. You follow him all around, and get so cracked up when he gets near you. You just laugh and laugh! You try to touch him (maybe even pull his hair), but he doesn't let you.
  • You have completely stolen our hearts! We love you so much, and every day, we love you more and more! We are so thankful and blessed to have this opportunity to be your parents.

Ok, so I know you are the BIG 7 months but REALLY...this is what I saw when I walked into your room the other day:

Just kidding...completely staged! Ha!

Da-Da-Da-Da-Da

I FINALLY caught him! I have been trying to video Brody saying "Da-Da", and I actually got him to say it with the camera on today! It seems like every time we bring out the camera, he STOPS whatever he is doing. He is definitely not a performer for sure! We see him doing all these new things, and when we try to get him to do it for someone, or for the camera, he refuses to do it. Well not this time little boy, I caught you!

I don't really understand why most babies say "Da-Da" first anyway! We mothers go through 9 months of pregnancy, labor, and pain/healing after pregnancy, and I think we deserve to have "Ma-Ma" said first! I am just blessed to have a healthy baby first of all, and if he wants to say "Da-Da" first, then it is fine! Brody, if you want your 2nd word to be "Ma-Ma", I would really appreciate it buddy!

Hungry Boy

Brody has been one hungry boy lately! He has moved up from Stage 1 baby foods, to Stage 2. He usually gets rice cereal mixed with fruit for breakfast, a vegetable for lunch, and a vegetable (maybe 2, or 1/2 a jar of fruit) for supper. He still gets formula too! We have also been working on self feeding using the Gerber puffs. He had a hard time with them at first, but he is getting the hang of it now! I took a little video of him feeding himself a puff....sorry about the video being sideways!

No teeth yet! He has been drooling like crazy, and chewing on EVERYTHING...but, still no teeth. I really feel like they will soon be arriving though!

We are also working on "MaMa", "DaDa", and "Bye-Bye" (with the hand motions). I am hoping he says "MaMa" first, but Chris is training him pretty hard for "DaDa". He just looks at us like we are crazy and starts smiling when we talk to him. He is so sweet! A few times, he has made the "Bye-Bye" hand motions when we say it, but they may or may not have been intentionally. We liked it anyway!

4th of July

We have had such a good 4th of July weekend! We spent most of Friday and Saturday in the pool with Brody! He loves the water, and just relaxing in his little float.

Saturday night, we grilled out at the Rouse's house. They cooked steak, baked potato, and BBQ bread! It was so good! The Eubanks' also joined us. We had so much fun hanging out with all of them. After dinner, we all went to Sands in the Streets to listen to beach music, and then see the FIREWORKS! I was a little nervous about how Brody would react to all the loud booms, but he did good until the finale...and then he squeezed my neck tight and hid his face a little. Overall, he did really good!

We have another busy day ahead of us. One of my best friends, Mindy's little boy turned 1 yesterday! He is having his birthday party today. Brody is looking forward to going to his friends birthday party. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Payton!!!
