New Things

At Brody's 6th month doctor's visit, the doctor told us to start introducing a sippy cup with juice, and if Brody was ready, finger foods. Finger foods meaning the Gerber Puffs (the ones that dissolves FAST), and anything dissovable that he can work on self-feeding and grasping.

I learned fast that the first sippy cup I tried want working. Brody LOVES juice, and with the first cup, he couldn't figure out how to get it out. I went to Target and bought the Nuby silicone spout sippy cup. It worked! He was able to get his juice out. He's by far not a professional sippy cup user, but he is working on it. Plus, he was happy because he got his juice!

The Puffs were not so great. He didn't really know what to do with those. I think we are going to hold off on them for awhile. The doctor said he would be ready for them as soon as he could pick them up, so I guess he is not ready for them right now. We did try something called Baby Mum-Mum's. My friend Kendra told me about them a while ago. They come in 2 flavors, Plain (Rice), and Vegetable. They are pretty hard to find, but Walmart carries them. We gave Brody one of those things, and the first thing he did was bite a huge piece off! I almost had a heart attack!!! How can someone with NO teeth bite such a big piece off?

Happy Birthday Uncle Cliff

Cliff's 27th birthday was Thursday, but we all went out to celebrate Friday night. We went to eat at Sumo Japanese Steakhouse.

At Sumo, they get you to wear this sumo wrestler head piece and sing you the "Happy Birthday" song in both English, and Japanese.

6 Month Well Baby Check Up

Brody had his 6 month well baby visit on Friday. He is right on track with everything. Here's his stats:

~Weight 17lbs. 0 ozs. (37%)

~Height 27 in. (66%)
~Head Circumference 46cm (94%)

So basically, we have a tall, skinny, and a big headed baby! Haha, but we love him so much! The Doctor said his weight was nothing to worry about, it was just a little under the average. For his height, average weight is 18lbs, so we are not to off track. Plus, he was sick a couple of weeks ago.

He also had to get those awful SHOTS! He got 2 shots in his right leg, 1 shot in his left leg, and then the oral medication to prevent the rotavirus. Don't worry, he had Tylenol before and after his appointment. He did run a low grade fever, but hopefully that is gone!

New things to look forward to in the next 1-2 months:
~Eating baby food with meat around 7 months
~Sippy cup
~TEETH
~sitting up unsupported
~crawling

We love Brody's doctor! He takes his time, answers all our questions, and interacts with Brody. Brody even got a little book of Colors as his "reward" for having to go through those shots!

Our next Doctor's appointment will be in 3 months for his 9 Month Well Baby Visit!

He Wants To Crawl SOoo Bad!

Brody wants to crawl so bad he can't stand it! Everynight, Brody gets "floor time", and we are starting to see more and more of this...

It is so cute watching him do new things. We are working on getting this crawling thing down, and also sitting up. He can sit on his own for about 1 minute now. We work on it everyday, so hopefully he will get it soon! I am so happy and blessed that I have a healthy, smart, and beautiful baby, but on the other hand, it makes me a little sad that he is growing up. When people say "they grow up fast", they are not lying! They really do!

I have been trying to catch him at his attempt to crawl so many times with the video camera. It has not been a success! I will get it soon so I can post it up here. It is just too cute!

Father's Day Pictures

We had a pretty busy day yesterday. Chris was greeted by Brody first thing in the morning to give him his Father's Day card. We ate lunch at Crackel Barrell with my family to celebrate Father's Day for my dad, my grandaddy, and my uncle Scott. After lunch, we headed to Chris's parents house to celebrate Father's Day with his dad. Here are a few pictures from yesterday...
